There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. Transportation to Anchorage City Center from Airport
Ted Stevens Anchorage Intl. Airport
You can get to the city center by bus or taxi from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. If you want to rent a car in order to get to the city center, you can follow two different ways both of which are very easy. The free airport shuttle service provided by some hotels is one of the easiest, comfortable and fast means of transportation.
Taxi
There is also a taxi-stand in front of both terminals. The taxi fare in order to go to Anchorage city center costs between 17-22 dollars. The ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes under normal traffic conditions.
Rent a car
At Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, there is a Car Rental Center, which hosts 8 car rental companies. To get to the Car Rental Center, you can benefit from free shuttle services that depart every 15 minutes from the South Terminal. If you are in the North Terminal, you can ask for a shuttle service immediately using the toll-free telephone. You can go to the city center by driving through two different routes. You need to connect to L Street or O’Malley routes through Minnesota W Int. Airport road. Both routes lead you to the city center in no more than 16 minutes under normal conditions.
Bus
If you prefer public transport, you can reach the city center in half an hour from the airport by getting on the bus number 7. The ticket price is 2$. The bus departs every 30 minutes from 6 am to 11 pm every day.
