Eskilstuna is a famous city located on the River Eskilstunaan, which connects Lake Malaren and Lake Hjalmaren. With an advanced industry, this city is one of the largest cities in Sweden with a population of around 100 thousand. The city has magnificent lake views due to its location. Places to visit in the city include Sigurdsristningen, Munktellmuseet, Fristadstorget, and Klosters kyrka. Eskilstuna draws attention for being a major city during the Swedish reform and having a long history dating back to the Viking Age. One of the most interesting things about the city is the hours of daylight.  

Winters in the city are cold, snowy, and dark. The sun sets very early in the winter and it is the exact opposite in the summer. In the summer the sun sets around midnight and rises shortly after. Summers aren’t too hot and the days are extremely long; therefore the best time to visit the city is during the summer. Sweden’s major sports facilities and cultural centers are located in Eskilstuna. The city is also home to a world-renowned handball team.
