However, to get to the airport from the city center you have to first take the metro and then get on a bus. From central locations in the city like the Old City, Cafer Cabbari, and Khatai you can take the metro to the 28 May and Koroglu stations. From here you can get on bus line 116, which runs to the airport or take a taxi to the airport.   

Personal Car

Since the city is rich in oil, fuel is cheap, making traveling by car a very attractive option. Getting to the city center from the airport is very easy. One of the city’s most important avenues, Heydar Aliyev Avenue will connect you to the Boyuk Shor Highway, which goes to the airport. From the highway take the Airport exit. The airport contains indoor and outdoor parking lots where you can park your personal car for a certain fee.

Although it is not very large Heydar Aliyev International Airport is an important junction, especially for passengers traveling between Europe and Asia. The airport offers passengers a variety of eating, drinking, and shopping venues.

The airport has 2 terminals, Terminal 1, which was completely renovated, and Terminal 2, which serves domestic flights. The airport contains world famous fast food chains like Burger King, McDonald’s, and KFC, as well as restaurants that offer delicious flavors unique to Azerbaijani cuisine.

The international terminal has a large Duty Free shop as well as souvenir shops where you can buy items unique to Russian and Azeri culture. The airport features free wireless internet connection. 

Kastamonu Airport is located 13 km from the city center. The airport only operates domestic flights. Kastamonu Airport offers passengers a variety of transportation alternatives to travel between the airport and the city center.

You can get to the city center from Kastamonu Airport by buses, shuttle services, taxis, and rental cars. Each transportation alternative is very convenient and readily available once you land. The city is located about 20 minutes away.

Taxi

Taxis are the fastest transportation alternative to get to the city center from Kastamonu Airport. Taxis provide convenient and quick transportation to the city. Keep in mind that it could take a bit longer depending on the traffic conditions. Taxis are readily available at the airport exit and they provide door-to-door service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Bus

You can get to the city center from Kastamonu Airport by bus. Buses provide comfortable transportation to the city. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city from the airport by bus. Buses are a more affordable alternative compared to taxis. Buses are readily available at the airport exit and they run frequently.

Shuttle Services

Another convenient way to get to the city from the airport is by shuttle services. Turkish Airlines and Pegasus provide passenger shuttle services that make getting to and from the airport even easier. Turkish Airlines has two shuttle services that operate every day in the morning. Pegasus has a shuttle service that provides transportation to and from the airport on Thursdays and on the weekends; this shuttle service operates at varying times of the day. Renting a car is a great transportation alternative to get to the city center and explore the city and its surroundings during your trip. There are rental car offices located at the terminal.
