With a population of 7.4 million, Bandung is Indonesia’s 3^rd most populated city. Bandung, which is also the capital of the West Java region, is a popular city among tourists.

The city is located at a higher altitude than most other cities in Indonesia, situated 750 meters above sea level. Therefore the city has a cool climate with less humidity. Tea plantations and volcanoes surround the city. After the independence of Indonesia, Bandung experienced rapid growth and its hotels, restaurants, and boutiques make it look like a European city. The city also features some structures belonging to the Dutch colonial era.

There is heavy traffic in the city and the city experiences occasional floods. The city’s traffic increases even more over the weekends with an influx of tourists visiting from Jakarta.
