Situated in the north of Slovakia on the border between the Czech Republic and Poland, Zilina is one the most important industrial cities in Slovakia, which hosts the European assembly industry. There is one airport in Zilina, which hosts thousands of businessmen, engineers, researchers and students come every year because the city is an important production center. Zilina Airport, which is located in Dolny Hricov area in the west of the city, is 15 kilometers away from the city. It is possible to reach the airport from the city center by bus.
