Transportation to Atlanta Airport from the City Center

De Kalb Airport

The distance between Atlanta city center and DeKalb - Peachtree Airport is about 13 kilometers. The alternatives you can use are taxi, train or car rental to transfer from the city center to the airport.

Taxi

Train

Atlanta's widely used public transport network is called MARTA (Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority). These trains are the most economical way of travel especially with a two-way scheduled service to Fulton and DeKalb - Peachtree Airport. Trains run every day of the week from 04:45 to 01:00 from Atlanta city center at 8-minute intervals and you will be able to reach the station nearest the airport in 19 minutes. MARTA trains have two rail lines that go to the airport. It is the red rail line and gold rail line that go to DeKalb - Peachtree Airport. The most advantageous line to use is the gold rail line which is marked as the Doraville route and when you arrive at Chamblee MARTHA Station the airport is easily visible. From the station, follow the Chamblee Tucker road signs and walk for 10-15 minutes and then you will arrive at DeKalb - Peachtree Airport.

If you do not want to walk when you get off the train, or if you can not walk because of your luggage, you can also take bus 19 from New Peachtree Road.

DeKalb - Peachtree Airport is located on 700 acres of land in the city of Chamblee, northeast of the state of Atlanta, in the United States. Buses are a viable way to get to the airport depending on your location in the city. Lynx buses operate routes to various parts of the city from Orlando International Airport. Lynx bus 11 and Lynx bus 51 run to Downtown Orlando, Lynx bus 42 runs to International Drive, and Lynx bus 111 runs to Florida Mall/SeaWorld. Depending on your destination in the city taking the bus from the airport can take between 40-60 minutes. If you don’t have excess luggage and if you’re not in a hurry then buses are a viable transportation alternative to get to the city center.
