Rapid Transit

If you want to use public transportation to get to the airport the DART and TRE trains provide transportation from various parts of the city to DFW. Once you reach the airport train station there are free transfer services that provide access to the terminals. These transfer services usually provide transportation to Terminal A. From Terminal A passengers can take the free Terminal Link vehicles to get to other terminals. Transportation to Indianapolis City Center from Airport

Indianapolis Intl. Airport

There are many different ways of getting to the city center from Indianapolis International Airport. You can take a taxi, the bus, use a shuttle service, or even share a limousine if you want a luxurious journey. You can also rent a car or take advantage of the shuttle service that might be provided by the hotel you’re staying at.  

Taxi

There’s a taxi queue right outside arrivals. The taxis have a minimum charge of 15 dollars regardless of where you’re going. If you need to get to a place that’s far away outside the Indianapolis city center then you should discuss the taxi fare in advance with the driver so you avoid paying an unexpected amount. It's also regarded as common courtesy to tip the driver a suitable amount.

Shuttle Service

The Go Express travel agency offers a shuttle service departing every half hour between 08:00 and 23:00 every day. A one-way ticket costs $10. The shuttle services pick up and drop off passengers from the Transfer Center, which is on the first floor of the airport car park. These go directly to the city center and do not stop on the way.

There are also shuttle services organized that go directly to race tracks when there are races going on in Indianapolis, which is known as the car racing capital of the world.

Rent a car

There are 8 different car rental agencies at the Transfer Center, which is on the first floor of the Indianapolis Airport car park. You can hire a car suited to your budget from the wide range of option and reach the city center in less 20 minutes easily by taking the I-70 motorway at the airport exit.

Bus

Unlike the shuttle services, the bus is not direct and will often stop to pick up and drop off passengers along the way, especially on Washington Street. It's definitely slower, but the price is $ 1.75, which is the same as the standard bus fare through the city.

This bus line from the airport to the city center has a total 54 stops and the journey takes around 1 hour. If you’re going to use the buses to get around in the city in general then you can get a daily ticket for 4 dollars.

Hotel Service

The airport shuttle services that are offered by hotels in Indianapolis may be by private vehicles or a shuttle bus / minivan. If you make a reservation in advance then you car will be ready upon your arrival. You should reach the city center in no more than 20 minutes.

Limousine

If you really want a different and comfortable option then you can rent a limousine from one of more than agencies available at the Transfer Center in the airport car park. Limousines can be rented privately or shared.
