Known as the city of tolerance in Turkey, Hatay is also known as Antakya. Urban transportation is usually provided by bus, minibus or taxi in Hatay.

Transportation to Hatay Airport, which has domestic and international terminals, is also provided by HAVAŞ shuttle services. The shuttle services depart from the opposite of Atatürk Park, the city center. HAVAŞ shuttle services are arranged according to the landings and departures of the airplanes.

Hatay Airport is 25 kilometers away from Hatay city center. Iskenderun and Reyhanlı, the other important districts of Hatay, are 45 and 41 kilometers away from the airport. The airport, which was opened in 2008, was also announced as Air Border Crossing and thus opened to international flights.

There are flights to Cyprus as well as the major cities such as Istanbul and Ankara. There are direct flights to Dusseldorf city of Germany from the airport, where Turkish Airlines (THY), Pegasus and Borajet arrange flights.

Al-Aqiq Airport is located about 30 kilometers east of the city center. Transportation to the city center is provided by taxi or car rental services from the airport, which has welcome many domestic and foreign visitors for many years. Inside the airport are car parking areas, car rental offices, a restaurant and a shopping center.

You can reach the city center by taking a taxi at the exit of Al-Aqiq Airport. Since public transportation is less preferred in the city center, visitors prefer taking a taxi to reach the city center from the airport. Before you get in the taxi, describing the location of the hotel clearly and negotiating with the driver about taxi fare could prevent potential misunderstandings and problems.
