It is quite comfortable to reach the Linz Airport by bus or trams from the city. In many parts of the city you are likely to encounter taxi and car rental services. Therefore, if you are concerned about the urgency of your transportation, using these services will save you more time. Trams and buses, basic means of public transport in the city, are the most preferred means of transport to the airport.

Train

In Linz, which has a central railway station from where Austria's main railway lines pass through, trains are very popular and affordable. Linz is directly connected to the cities of Vienna and Salzburg thanks to the train station. There are also daily connections to other major European countries' capitals.

Bus

There are buses that run between Linz Airport and Linz city center. Buses are not working on Sundays. Tram

The tram, which is operated by Linz Municipality, meets a great need for transportation in the city of Linz. This tram system, which has been in operation since 1880, is perhaps one of the oldest tram systems in the world. There are 4 basic lines in total and the routes are connected with city buses. You are likely to go every point of the city of Linz in a short time and for fair prices by trams and buses making one or two transfers.

The main stops of tram line 1, the first of the 4 major tram lines are Universitat, Rudalfstraße, Hauptplatz, Hauptbahnhof, Simonystraße and Auwiesen. Stops of the tram line 2 are Universitat, Rudalfstraße, Hauptplatz, Hauptbahnhof, Simonystraße, Edelsberg and SolarCity. Stops of the tram line 3 are Landgutstraße, Rudolfstraße, Hauptplatz, Hauptbahnhof and Poblerholz. The main stops of line 50, the last line are Pöstlingberg, Landgutstraße, Rudolfstraße and Hauptplatz.

Taxi

It is possible to come across many taxis in Linz city center. Many of these taxis are actually affiliated to a company. Some of them provide personal transportation services. Airport Information

Another known name for Linz International Airport is "Blue Danube". The airport is located in the Hörsching Municipality and about 14 kilometers southwest of Linz city center. Located outside Linz city, Blue Danube Airport is 14 kilometers from Linz, 20 kilometers from Wels, 40 kilometers from Steyr, 60 kilometers from Gmunden, 81 kilometers from Pussau, 85 kilometers from Cesky Krumlov and 114 kilometers from Budweis.

Heinemann Duty Free Shop, tourist information office, car parks, car rental companies, travel agencies (Fair Travel, Holiday Last Minute, Reisebörse Sab Tours, Tuana Air), free internet access, smoking area, eating and drinking areas (restaurants, cafes and bars), Allgemeine Sparkasse Bank (open between 09.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.30 working hours on weekdays) can be found at the airport.
