Tegel Airport with code TXL in Berlin has been closed to use as of November 08, 2020. As of 09 November 2020, only Berlin Brandenburg International Airport is used for Berlin flights.

Taxi

The easiest transportation alternative to get to the city center is by taxi. Taxis charge based on the kilometers traveled. While taxis can be a bit pricey they have the advantage of being a faster and very comfortable mode of transportation. Taxis are always available at the airport and provide quick transportation to the city. Taxis are accessible from Terminal A, Terminal C, and Terminal E.

Bus

Another method of transportation that you can use to get to the city center is by bus. Buses are a more affordable option and they go to many locations in the city center. You can get on the normal or express buses, which are operated by the BVG (Berlin Transport Services), from Terminal A or Terminal B at the airport.

Train

There is no railway station at the airport. There are buses that go to the nearest stations, 5-10 minutes away, from which you can connect to other trains that reach the city center and the Berlin Train Station, which is located 30 minutes from the airport.  

Rental Cars

One of the fastest and most convenient ways to get to the city center is by renting a car. You can rent a car at Tegel Airport from the rental car offices located in Terminal E or the P2 parking area. Rental car companies that you can choose from include Avis, Enterprise, Budget, National, Alamo, Europcar, Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty, Sixt and Buchbinder.
