Crans-Montana, situated in Sierre Region of the Southern Switzerland, is a new settlement constituted by the combination of four separate municipalities dating back to the 13th century. The city is one of the important skiing centers of the country.

In the center of the Swiss Alps, Crans-Montana has a fabulous and peaceful atmosphere with lakes and ponds, surrounding mountain view and greenery which never disappears. Welcoming a great number of tourists especially from Switzerland and the neighboring countries every year, Crans-Montana is not only considered as a winter tourism city which hosts competitions and championships for various winter sports, but it also offers activities that can be performed throughout the whole year. It is possible to do different nature sports such as trekking, mountain climbing, mountain biking and paragliding in the city, where the second biggest golf tournament of Europe is also held. Moreover, a big rock festival is held in Crans-Montana as Caprices Festival every year.

Crans-Montana has a cold climate. In summer, the temperature rises maximum up to 20 degrees. And it drops down to minus degrees in winter. It snows heavily from November until April; but the most snowfall is observed in January. It may even snow in October, May, September and June.
