Esch-sur-Alzette, which is a cosmopolitan city with its vivacious history, is famous for its large shopping centers and architectural attractions designed by the architects such as Violet le Duc, Joseph Stübben, Gottfried Böhm and Peter Rice. Esch-sur-Alzette, which is the second largest city of the country, is located on the French border and also in the Alzette valley that extends along the city.
