Faralya, also known as Uzunyurt, is a heavenly village in Fethiye district of Muğla province. The distance between the village, which is 165 kilometers of Muğla city center, and Fethiye is about 25 kilometers. One end of Faralya located in the south of Fethiye in terms of its location looks to the Mediterranean and it lies its back on the red pine forests of Babadağ. The village consists of three neighborhoods as Hisar, Orta and Kabak. The village has a small number of houses. In Faralya which is located 440 meters above sea level and an archeological site, there are many historical remains from the Lycian and Roman periods in an area of 40 kilometers. Faralya was previously named one of the six hidden paradises in Turkey by the Times Magazine which is one of the most reputable magazines of the world. In addition, the Butterfly Valley and Kabak Valley are located within the borders of the village with their unquestionable beauties. You can get to the Butterfly Valley from Faralya by walking. You can get to the valley in about one and half an hour. This valley is known for many butterfly species especially the butterflies known as “Jersey Tiger”. Kabak Bay surrounded by cliffs is one of the most beautiful bays of our country with its small waterfalls and green forest.
You can travel to Faralya, whose economy is based on tourism and animal husbandry thanks to the richness given by its geography, by using the shared taxis departing from Fethiye. If you want to use marine transportation, you can reach Kabak Bay by boat from Ölüdeniz, which is 10 km away from the village. When you arrive by plane, the closest airport is Dalaman Airport, which is 72 km away. From the airport to Fethiye you can travel by using Havaş services.
