The villages of Ladis, Serfaus and Fiss together make a wonderful combination of winter resorts located in the Landeck region of the province of Tirol in Austria. Fiss has an altitude of 1436 meters above sea level and the region is also known as sun plateau and the villages are connected to other villages by cable car. The symbol of the carnival is a 35 meter long pine log named Bloch, which represents abundance against cold and harsh winters, and the log is decorated with bells and various objects. This tradition is exclusively for men and women are excluded from rituals. The carnival symbolises, that spring is starting which brings its warm nature against the cold and harsh winter. You can have fun with your child in the park on the seesaw, a summer rides and play inside a huge plane. On Schonjoch mountain you can you can get the scent of nature by going trekking and you can also take part in paragliding or model aircraft flying. The village also has many mountain restaurants where you can experience local tastes. There is also a theme park where you will see wolves, lynxes and bears in their natural surroundings as you can stroll through their natural habitat of the Alps. The nearest airport to the ski resort Fiss is in the city Innsbruck in Austria, which is 89 kilometers away. From the airport you can travel to Landeck by train, and then you can continue to the Fiss area by local taxi or bus.
