Helsingør, which is situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea, is one of the small and colorful cities of Denmark, The city, which is located in the east of the country, is known for its Kronborg Castle which the English writer William Shakespeare had in mind for its famous play Hamlet. The name of the city means “narrow strait” referring to the narrowest point of the Øresund Strait between what is now Helsingør and Helsingborg, Sweden.

There are frequent ferries to Sweden from the city which has been a very important port city throughout its history. It is possible to reach Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, by using the trains departing every 20 minutes from the train station of the city.
