About Johannesburg

With a population of 3 million, Johannesburg is the 2nd largest city in South Africa. The city is well-known for the gold and silver mines found in the surrounding area and the corresponding businesses and industries found in the city because of them. The city also has many parks and natural areas to visit, including Kruger National Park, Pilanesberg National Park - where you can take a safari -, and Johannesburg Zoo. By some measures the city is home to the largest urban forest in the world.

Going to Gold Reef City will allow you to visit an old gold mine. The city also has many museums and galleries and is one of Africa's premiere art destinations. In addition to art, you can also visit a museum about South Africa's shameful Apartheid era. Nevertheless, today Johannesburg is a colorful city with lots of exciting options for both day and night. Johannesburg International Airport is one of the busiest in the world.
