Lubumbashi, a city established on the Zambian border in the southeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is the capital of the Catholic Territory. Region is the most advanced area of the country ​​in terms of economy and industrialization. It is regarded as a center especially in the field of mining. More than half of the mining industry is made up of cobalt production. Textile and food industry, brick and copper production are also developed in the city. Although Swahili is the official language, French is predominant among people in the city.

Lubumbashi is a city where the effects of moist semi-tropical climate can be observed. The summer months are warm and rainy, while the winters are warm and dry. In the city there is hardly any precipitation in the winter season, but in the summer and in the beginning of autumn it is receiving a lot of rainfall. The city has a humid climate throughout the year. In the spring, the heat is very high. The best time to visit the city is winter when the average temperature is 25 degrees Celsius and the humidity rate is also relatively low.

The Lubumbashi National Museum is home to archeological remains and ethnological pieces. The Botanical Garden is also a zoo and very close to natural habitat. It is also possible to consider the park as a nice recreation area or hiking trail. There is also a restaurant inside. The visitors are highly recommended to try the local beer named Tembo produced in Lubumbashi. Built during the colonial period, Justice Palace, Grand Hotel and the Catholic Cathedral of St. Pierre et Paul are recognized as the city's architectural symbols. The amphitheater in Kasombo Street hosts very nice local shows. In the city center you can find many small shops or benches where you can buy souvenirs. There are predominantly wooden carving products and jewelry made from worthless mines.

The city is connected to surrounding cities by railway networks. For further distances, Lubumbashi International Airport serves the city. Public transportation in the city is mainly carried out with buses. Whichever route the minibuses have, they pass through the city center,  and the most central stop is called "Kasapa". Nevertheless, tourists are not recommended to take those because they are crowded and higher fees can be asked from strangers. Those who want a more comfortable means of transport can take a taxi or rent a jeep to make them comfortable on rough roads. Motorcycles is a very common means among local people in Lubumbashi. The traffic is generally intense in the city, and the drivers mostly move carelessly.
