About Luxor

Luxor is a historical city in South Egypt that was once home to one of Egypt's most powerful kingdoms. As a result, the modern city today is home to many historical and touristic attractions.

As a settled area for thousands of years, it was destroyed by the Mesopotamians in 665 BC and laid in ruins until the Arabs rebuilt the city in 639 AD. Of course, before this date it was home to many successive ancient dynasties. Also close to the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, on whose ruins Luxor was built, the city is home to one of the world's largest open-air museums. That's why Luxor is visited by thousands of tourists every year.

Luxor's Karnak Temple is located 2.5 km north of the village of el-Karnak, one of the region's most attractive areas. This temple is one of the most visited temples in Egypt, and has traces of many pharaohs. The Valley of the Kings which is home to the pyramids of Luxor is another place worth visiting. There are 64 tombs in the valley.

El Uks Museum, the Mummification Museum, the Ramesseum and Malbat Coast are just some of the tourist hotspots in Luxor, which is especially meant as an unique travel experience for tourists who are interested in ancient Egyptian culture. Luxor air transportation is provided by Luxor International Airport, which is located 10 minutes from the city center.
