Palamutbükü is a small seaside town located in Datça, one of the most beautiful districts of Muğla, in Southern Turkey. Palamutbükü is more serene and less developed than other nearby vacation spots. The stony bottom of the sea is clearly visible through the cool crystal turquoise water. There are a selectıon reasonably priced hotels and bed and breakfasts, as well as apartments and houses for rent. On the Western nose of the peninsula lies Knidos, once the Greek city of Caria. One of the wealthiest cities in the ancient world, Knidos has a rich 5000-year-old history. The most impressive Knidos ruin is the 4000-capacity amphitheater, which lies right on the shore just at the point where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean. You can also view both harbors from a height among the remarkable ruins of Aphrodite’s Temple.
Restaurants on the shore serve delicious Aegean and local specialties. Fish restaurants with breathtaking views grill freshly caught seafood and have a selection of appetizers made from locally grown vegetables and olive oil. You can enjoy your supper or an evening drink while watching the spectacular sunset. Minibuses frequently carry passengers to the serene coast of Palamutbükü from the bustling Datça town center, 20 km away.
