Petaling Jaya is located in the state of Selangor, which is in the west of Kuala Lumpur, one of the richest cities of the world. It was established as the first planned city of Malaysia in 1954. With a population above 500 thausand, the city has expanded towards the north as the time passed by and become one of trade centres of Kuala Lumpur. The city comprises of four different parts; namely,  S (east PJ), SS (centre and west), PJU (north), and PJS (south). Wat Chetawan, located next to LRT station, is the most magnificent monuments on Klang Valley. Wat Chetawan started to serve as a small temple in Jalan Raja Bot in 1957 and has hosted its visitors for over 40 years, and now is located in a pretty big complex. The most famous Thai festivals such as Songkran, Loy Krathong, and Wesak are held in this temple, which attracts the visitors with both its sophisticated and dissimilar design and flamboyant statues on the floor.
