Playa del Inglés, located within the borders of San Bartolomé de Tirajana Municipality of Gran Canaria Island, is a popular holiday destination in the region. Migrants from different countries live in Playa Del Inglés, the population of which was found to be approximately eight thousand people in the 2013 census.

The region, which began to host the British settlers after the early 20th century, later stayed under the French effect for a while. Forming a large holiday destination together with the towns in its vicinity such as Sonnenland, Maspalomas and San Agustin, Playa Del Inglés was not so popular until the beginning of 1960s. The region was enlivened after those years and gained popularism as a holiday destination visited by lots of tourists every year.
