Being one of the biggest districts of Ankara with a population of approximately 500 thousand people, Sincan has become more important following the foundation of the First Organized Industrial Zone in 1990. In the first years of the Republic of Turkey, immigrants from Romania, who settled in Sincan after the demand of Atatürk, brought tulip bulbs with them and made tulip the symbol of Sincan. Today, there is Tulip Square in the center of Sincan. Sincan Train Station is home to suburban trains as well we intercity high-speed trains.
