Sint-Truiden is one of the largest cities of Limburg in Belgium. The founder of the city, which can be traced back to the 7th century, is Trudo, a Frankian who is said to have opened a blind woman's eyes. Fruit cultivation, especially pears, apples, cherries and strawberries, constitute the basis of the last 200 years of the eastern region of the city. The city, which is getting more attraction from April to October thanks to the colorful festivals held, and is crowded with wine tours and fruit companies during flower and harvest time. Especially the harvest market founded in September is one of the biggest events in the city. When trees bloom, tourism revives and many activities from romantic night walks among fruit trees decorated with candles to hot air balloon tours are organized. The city, which is the heart of the historic trade center, offers many options for those willing to shop thanks to the gate opening to Grote Mark, the second largest city in Belgium and hosting many shops.
