Spindleruv Mlyn, which is located 120 kilometers of Prague and is situated at the confluence of the Elbe River and the Dolky Creek, is one of the most visited centers of the Czech Republic. The magnificent mountain nature of the city and tourist facilities suitable for all winter sports particularly skiing make the city a very popular destination for tourists. During the winter season, this center hosts the freestyle skiing championship at a height of 1235 meters of the mountains. The history of Spindleruv Mlyn dates back to the 16th century. In the town, where lumber was supplied for the construction of modern cities and the houses of the noble families, silver was also mined in those centuries. In the second half of the 19th century, the town turned towards tourism completely. Spindleruv Mlyn welcomes approximately 750 thousand tourists with its 4 cable cars, 11 ski lifts, 5 chairlifts, 11 ski-snowboard slopes working with artificial snow system. The town, where you can also paraglide, is home to organizations like tennis tournaments and mountain bike races that become intense in October.
Elbe Dam built in 1914, glacial valley called “Giant Mine”, Labsky and Pancavski waterfalls, ponds and symbolic monuments representing the victims on mountains are among the places to discover in the town.
