Tucson, which is located in the state of Arizona of the United States of America, is the 32nd largest city in the United States. The population of the city, which is about 520 thousand people according to the 2010 census, reaches 1 million with the suburbs. The city, which is located 188 kilometers southeast of Phoenix and 98 kilometers north of the United States-Mexico border, is also the second largest city in the state of Arizona. The city is also called as "Optics Valley" because it has almost 150 companies that design and produce optoelectronic and optical systems.
There is Sahuarita in the north of the city. The city has Marana and Oro Valley in the northwest. Outside the Tucson city center, there is Benson in the southeast, Oracle and Catalina in the north and Green Valley in the south. In Tucson, the summers are very hot while the winters are moderate.
