Yining is the capital of the Kazakh Autonomous Region, located in the People's Republic of China. The city is locally known as Ghulja among the people. Yining is an diverse city where people from many different ethnic groups live together. Situated on the banks of the Ili River, it is the agricultural and commercial center of the region.
