Zamardi, which is a charming holiday town in Somogy County of Hungary, comes to the forefront with the famous Lake Balaton, Strand Festival hosting many visitors from many countries throughout the summer season and world-famous music festivals like Balaton Sound. There are a few explanations regarding the name of the town. One of the theory is that the oldest known name of Zamardi, which was populated by Avars between the 9th and 10th centuries, is Kis Szent Mártir.
