The most practical transportation alternative to get to Los Angeles International airport from the city center is by using the FlyAway buses. These buses depart from Union Station and get to the airport in about 40 minutes. When there is traffic or during rush hour that travel time can vary significantly. FlyAway buses depart every 30 minutes and you don’t need to reserve a spot beforehand. The FlyAway buses operate between the following locations and the airport, Van Nuys (San Fernando Valley) Union Station (Downtown Los Angeles), Westwood (West Los Angeles/UCLA), Santa Monica, Hollywood, Orange Line, and Long Beach. Separate buses depart from these locations to the airport. You can buy your bus ticket on board using a credit card.
