From Altay Airport you can easily reach the Altay city center in less than half an hour by hiring a taxi. If you go to the bus station on the Tuanjie Road, you can reach the different parts of the city, or catch buses to the surrounding cities. The price of a bus ticket in the city is only 1 yen.

The best way of reaching Altay airport from the city center is by taxi or private car. If you are using a rental car, head southwest  on the G216 highway, following exit signs until you reach the airport. Whether by rental car or taxi, reaching the airport from the city center takes about half an hour.

Airport Information

Situated in the city center, about 12 km southwest of Altay city, the airport has a small terminal and a single runway. There are regular flights to Urumqi and Yining city. Altay Airport is closed during the winter season, for five months.
