Anta is a village located in the Carhuaz province of Peru and is the center of the district. The village is located 9 kilometers north of the village of Quillo and is 2600 meters above sea level.
The district has the same name as the village Anta and the village of Anta should not be confused with other settlements in the Cusco region and in other small areas. The majority of the people of the area are native citizens of Quechua origin. While 73% of the local population learns to speak the Quechua language from childhood, 26% of the population speak Spanish.
