Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam's largest island, is located within the administrative borders of KienGiang province. There are two counties and eight communes in Phu Quoc, where a population of 100,000 people lives. The island, which has many beautiful beaches, holiday villages, and hotels, is known as a favorite place for tourists. Located 40 kilometers from the coast of Vietnam, the island is located 12 kilometers off the coast of Cambodia. The island has two airports which welcome many tourists throughout the year, and the local cuisine is widely-known for its dishes made with fish sauce and black pepper. Unsurprisingly, many of the island's inhabitants rely on fishing to make a living, and pepper cultivation is widespread as well.
