Apartado is located in the Antioquia Department of Colombia, on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. According to 2012 data, the economy of the region, where the population is approximately 165 thousand inhabitants, is based on bananas, plantain, corn, cocoa, cassava, wood and livestock. The relative humidity is above 80% all year round and the mean temperature is 30 degrees celsius. Apartado is divided into 48 neighborhoods, and here is the best high school of the region of Uraba Antioquia. The region borders with the Caribbean Sea and is the sixth largest region of Colombia. The city has a higher population of white race, but blacks and Amerindians also live in the city.
