Located in the northern part of Iraq, Mosul has a population of about 2.5 million. Located about 400 kilometers from the capital Baghdad, the city is located along the banks of the Tigris River. Mosul, which has a semi-arid climate, has a particularly high temperature especially during the summer months. The temperature in June, July, August and September exceeds 40 degrees Celsius. The coldest month is January: the average temperature in this month is around 2 degrees Celsius, but in the evening it is below zero and it is quite cold.

Mosul is very rich in terms of historical buildings. It has many different structures in terms of historical mosques, castles, churches and schools; Umeyye Mosque, Al-Habda named brick minaret are some of these. The national museum hosting many historical pieces of the ancient city of Ninova is also an important place to visit. Many religious stories take place in the city which hosts shrines. Since there are some security risks in the Middle East since 2014, there is a recommendation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey for not traveling here for a while. In this city you can taste the most delicious flavors of Arab, Kurdish and Turkish cuisine. Meat and flour dishes come to the fore. In addition to these, the city is famous for its rice pilaf. Mosul fabric and Mosul marble are also the products that Mosul exports to the world.
