San Andres Airport is somewhat central to San Andres, which is a Columbian island in the Caribbean. You can get to the city centre, or other locations from San Andres Airport with a taxi or mototaxi.

Taxi

The traffic can get quite bad in San Andres, one of the world’s most important holiday destinations in the world, and so the journey time to the centre from the airport might vary between 15 to 30 minutes. There are taxis available 24/7 in front of the terminal building.

Mototaxi

Mototaxis have a small cabin connected to a motorcycle, and transport passengers from the airport to the centre from the early hours of the morning until midnight. Even though it’s rather uncomfortable, taking a mototaxi to the centre might be preferable to a taxi as it is cheaper.  

You can use a taxi or rent a car to get from San Andres to the San Andres Airport.

Since there can be traffic problems in San Andres, especially around mid-day, it might be a good idea to leave earlier to get to the airport. You can reach the airport in around half an hour with a taxi, which you should be able to find 24/7 from the taxi stops in the city centre.

There is free Wi-Fi in San Andres Airport, which only has one terminal. There are also cafes and food courts for those who are feeling a little peckish. In case of health related emergencies you can go to the first aid and nurse centres that are in the terminal. It’s possible to do financial transactions using the BBVA Cajero ATM. Aside from these basic services; San Andres Airport also has special bathroom areas. You can also do some shopping for clothing, drinks, newspapers, gift items, jewellery, and duty free items.
