About Mexico City

Mexico City is the largest city and capital of Mexico. Founded in 1325 as the seat of the Aztec Empire, Mexico City once "floated" on a series of canals and lakes but this was all destroyed when the Spanish Conquistadors colonized the area. Today Mexico City is still a major commerce and touristic center that is both beautiful and crowded. Its constantly warm climate helps welcome visitors tourists the entire year.

In this noisy yet colorful city you can get around by taxi, bike, or on foot. One of the best places to visit is the beautiful Mexico Cathedral. The geometerical layout of the city makes navigating much more easy. There are also excellent museums explaining the history of Mexico, from the precolonial indigeneous era up until today, with entertaining and informative ethnographic and archeological exhibits. Finally, Mexican cuisine is of course world-famous and you can find excellent examples of it here.
