Some hotels offer their guests a shuttle service, which is a practical alternative.  Although construction works on the Honolulu Rail Transit Project is ongoing, travellers that prefer to use public transportation to and from the airport must use the bus until the railway line is complete. It is possible to reach various points of the city centre in a short time by using different bus routes.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals terminal, and can transport you to the city centre in around 15 minutes. You can rent a vehicle suitable to your budget by agreeing with one of the car rental companies inside the airport. To drive to the city centre from the Honolulu International Airport, you should take the I-H-1 E and HI-92 E. The journey from the airport to the city centre takes roughly 15 minutes in normal traffic conditions.

Bus

Travellers that prefer to use public transport can use bus routes 19, 20, and 31 to reach different areas of the city. A one-way ticket costs 2.5 dollars.
