Freiburg, also known as “Freiburg im Breisgau”, is located on the south-western side of Germany, near the borders of France and Switzerland. French is widely spoken among the inhabitants of the city, which is only 25 kilometers away from the border of France.
Located in the southernmost region of the country, the city is also known as one of Germany's hottest cities. The majority of people living in the city is Catholic. However, there are also the communities having different religious beliefs in Freiburg. Freiburg is also a bicycle-friendly city. Young or old, almost everyone in the city has a bicycle. You can also travel the city on two wheels.
You can visit the Freiburg Cathedral, one of the world’s greatest cathedrals, and see the Augustiner Museum, which are among the places worth seeing in Freiburg. Among the places worth are the German Clock Museum, where you can travel the mysterious world of old clocks, and the Freiburg Botanical Garden, where you can walk through lush trees and plants. The breathtaking landscape of the forests around the city also offers an admirable view, especially in the spring and autumn seasons.
