Parkersburg, located in the state of Virginia in the United States, is the state's fourth largest city. Settled at the intersection of the Ohio River and the Little Kanawha River, the city has a population of about 30,000 people in 2010. The majority of the population is whites, while the rest are African Americans, Indians and Asians.

Every June, the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival is held in the city, where various cultural groups from around the world put on shows consissting of traditional dances and music , as well as parades, competitions and entertainments. There is also the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival held in August every year. In the city with many museums, some of the highlights include Blennerhassett Museum, Henry Cooper House and the African American History Museum.
